the fruit of the spirit

Whenever I heard the media talk about Christians supporting he I don't feel like naming, what rolls through my head is simply this (and has been since way back in 2016):

But the fruit of the spirit is:

Love

Joy

Peace

Patience

Kindness

Goodness

Faithfulness

Gentleness

Self-control

Against these there is no law.

Now I can try to understand human nature and how people act and why they would choose such a person. I can look at the history of the church and all the things it has legitimatized. I can see many frustrations with how the world is. I can understand needing a person to be what I need them to be.

But at the end of day, when I am stuck hearing about this incredibly selfish man and this Biblical passage sings through my head, I just don't get it.
