Nature (Life and Death)

Trees to me are about life and death. How in winter, in that time when the snow is gone but the trees have not budded, they look so dead, and what surrounds them looks so dead, but behind, so often, is the most brilliant blue sky.

And how what is differs from what seems. And how easily what is changes with every step taken as does the tree in front, beside and behind me.

There are three main patterns here, they are some of the patterns I have most often repeated. Two began with photographs from my walks in the river valley, the other in charcoal.
